We continue our look at Coulee Region alumni with the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. It is about 220 miles to Iowa's campus, with an approximate drive time of 4 hours and 23 minutes. The Hawkeyes are NCAA Division I members of the Big Ten Conference, where they have been since 1899.

Derek Coorough of Hillsboro had been on the men's wrestling team until last season, after which he exhausted his eligibility.
There are no area athletes on baseball, men's or women's basketball, men's cross country, men's or women's golf, men's or women's gymnastics, women's rowing, women's soccer, softball, men's or women's swimming and diving, men's or women's tennis, men's or women's track and field, women's volleyball or men's wrestling.
